2024 Porsche Taycan Review (Video) on Everyman Driver

As automakers rush to electrify their iconic models or introduce entirely new EV lineups, Porsche has remained deliberate with its electric offerings, focusing primarily on the Taycan, its sole EV model until the forthcoming electric Macan arrives. Porsche’s measured approach has yielded impressive results. The 2024 Taycan continues to deliver the classic Porsche performance enthusiasts adore, characterized by exceptional handling, lightning-fast acceleration, and a serene, luxurious demeanor for both daily commutes and long-distance drives.

The Taycan offers two body styles: a low-slung fastback sedan and a hatchback-wagon variant that provides a bit more cargo space without sacrificing style. Inside, tech enthusiasts will delight in the abundance of technology, including three displays, two touchscreens, optional screens for front- and rear-seat passengers, wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and four USB charge ports. In 2024, the Taycan also introduces native Spotify streaming, liberating your phone from streaming duties.

Despite its stellar performance, the Taycan falls short in terms of driving range, offering 208-246 miles, which places it in the middle of the pack among EVs and notably behind some of its closest rivals. For instance, the Tesla Model S boasts a range of 350-400 miles, while the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT trim covers 270 miles. Although the Audi e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT, sharing the same EV platform as the Taycan, offer slightly better range, none of these competitors match the Taycan’s unique blend of poise and spirit. In summary, the 2024 Porsche Taycan embodies the sleek, agile, fast, and polished attributes one would expect from a renowned sports car brand transitioning to electric. However, its driving range remains a disappointment.
