Kia is preparing to bid farewell to the Stinger model line with a special limited-production variant known as the Tribute Edition. This exclusive model is destined for just 440 units in North America, and we now have details on its pricing. The base price for the Tribute Edition starts at $53,390, and with the mandatory $1,175 added in, the total out-the-door price comes to $54,565. This represents a $1,500 premium over the Stinger GT2.
For this amount, buyers will get the 2024 Kia Stinger Tribute Edition with rear-wheel drive. If they opt for all-wheel drive, it will require an additional $2,200, bringing the top-tier Stinger price to $56,765. It’s worth noting that all Tribute Edition models are built upon the GT2 trim, featuring the potent twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 engine generating 368 horsepower, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
In contrast, the 2024 Stinger lineup in the US consists of just one other trim, the GT-line, which comes equipped with a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 300 hp. This more budget-friendly Stinger variant, with rear-wheel drive, starts at $37,865. This price represents a substantial $16,700 savings compared to the rear-wheel-drive Tribute Edition.
The Tribute Edition made its debut toward the end of 2022, marking the final chapter in the Stinger’s production. This sports sedan garnered significant attention when it was introduced for the 2017 model year, thanks to its impressive straight-line performance and balanced handling, making it a favorite among driving enthusiasts worldwide. Despite its initial appeal, the Stinger faced challenges in terms of sales, ultimately leading Kia to discontinue the model. The Tribute Edition is essentially an appearance package, featuring black wheels, various black exterior accents, and an exclusive Steel Matte Gray metallic color. Inside, it offers brown leather seats with special trim to commemorate the Stinger’s legacy.
