The 2025 GMC Terrain has made its official debut, showcasing a bold new design that elevates the brand’s compact SUV offering. With this next-generation model, GMC has focused on integrating more advanced technology and safety features, particularly in the Elevation trim, which is the first to launch.
Design and Features:
The 2025 Terrain introduces a refreshed design that shares styling cues with GMC’s truck lineup, including a more aggressive grille that connects to the new headlamps and lower fog lights. This gives the Terrain a more robust and athletic presence on the road. Additionally, for the first time, the Terrain will offer a two-tone roof option in black or gray, adding a new level of customization for customers.
Inside, the Terrain’s cabin has been reimagined with a focus on modern design and convenience. The interior features long, sweeping lines that enhance the feeling of space, while chrome accents add a touch of elegance. Wireless chargers are conveniently placed near the armrest, and the standard tech package includes a 15-inch diagonal Premium GMC Infotainment System, along with an 11-inch driver information center. This setup allows drivers to view up to three applications simultaneously, enhancing the driving experience with seamless connectivity.
Technology and Safety:
GMC has packed the new Terrain with an impressive array of standard and optional technologies. All trims come with more than 15 safety and driver-assistance features, including Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, and Blind Zone Steering Assist. New for 2025, the Terrain also offers up to eight available camera views, including an optional rear camera mirror, a first for this model.
For added convenience, the Terrain includes 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability, HD Surround Vision, and Rainsense wipers. The AutoSense power liftgate, which automatically opens when the key fob is nearby, is another thoughtful feature that adds to the Terrain’s appeal.
Performance and Trims:
The 2025 Terrain comes standard with a 1.5L Turbocharged engine, delivering 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, ensuring a balanced combination of power and efficiency. The Terrain also offers a towing capacity of up to 1,500 pounds.
Looking ahead, GMC plans to launch the 2026 model year AT4 and Denali trims, which promise to elevate the Terrain’s capability and luxury even further. The AT4 will be the most capable Terrain ever, featuring exclusive Terrain Mode, a lifted ride height, and all-terrain tires. The Denali trim will focus on luxury, with features like heated seats in both the front and rear, 19-inch wheels (with 20-inch wheels available), and advanced Smart Frequency Dampers for a smoother ride.
