The Camry draws its power from Toyota’s first-ever sedan pairing of a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine with the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5). This dynamic HEV incorporates the engine’s power with two electric motors, delivering 225 net combined horsepower for Front Wheel Drive (FWD) models and 232HP for Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) models. Engineers have fine-tuned the HEV system for improved acceleration and torque feel at lower speeds by reducing engine RPMs and augmenting power from the traction battery. For the first time in Camry Hybrid history, Toyota’s Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system is available across all grades.
