The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 receives a variety of small changes for the seventh model year of the full-size, half-ton truck’s fourth generation.

These changes follow the 2019 Silverado 1500, which received a complete overhaul (re-engineering and redesign) and launched the fourth-gen model, followed by a mid-cycle refresh for the 2022.5 Silverado 1500, along with small changes to the 2023 Silverado 1500 and the 2024 Silverado 1500.

  • Deletion of four exterior colors:
    • Dark Ash Metallic (G6M)
    • Glacier Blue Metallic (GLT)
    • Harvest Bronze Metallic (GXN)
    • Lakeshore Blue Metallic (GXP)
  • Addition of two exterior colors:
    • Cypress Gray (GBD)
    • Riptide Blue Metallic (GJV)
  • Change in the availability of four tire options on LT Trail Boss:
    • LT275/65R18C blackwall Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires now optional on LT Trail Boss
      • For the 2024 model year, this tire was standard on LT Trail Boss
    • 275/60R20 all-terrain, blackwall tires now standard on LT Trail Boss
      • For the 2024 model year, this tire was optional on LT Trail Boss
    • Spare 255/80R17SL all-season, blackwall tire is now standard on LT Trail Boss
      • For the 2024 model year, 265/70R17 was the standard spare on LT Trail Boss
      • Spare 265/70R17SL all-season, blackwall tire is now optional on LT Trail Boss
  • Spray-on Bedliner (CGN) now has Chevrolet Bowtie Logo on back wall

  • Change in availability of two transmission options:
    • 10-speed automatic transmission (MI2) now requires 4WD 1WT Crew Cab model
      • For the 2024 model year, 10-speed automatic transmission (MI2) was available with 2WD and 4WD
        • For both 2024 and 2025 model years, the MI2 transmission is included and only available with Police Pursuit Package (9C1), Special Services Package (5W4) or E85 FlexFuel capability (FHS)
    • 10-speed automatic transmission (MQB) now requires a 4WD model
      • For the 2024 model year, 10-speed automatic transmission (MQB) was available on 2WD and 4WD
      • For both 2024 and 2025 model years, the MQB transmission is one of two transmissions used in conjunction with the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine
        • The other transmission used in conjunction with the LZ0 is the 10-speed automatic (MQC), which has Electronic Transmission Range Selector (ETRS) and paddle shifters – features that the MQB lacks
  • Addition of Universal Vehicle Module (KGU)
    • The Universal Vehicle Module enables CAN readability of selected messages utilizing SAE J1939 formatting. This gateway module offers 10-switchable inputs and outputs, and includes a graphical user interface to customize specific needs with more than 150 operating parameters available to read.
  • E85 FlexFuel capable (FHS) now requires 4WD 1WT Crew Cab model
    • For the 2024 model year, E85 FlexFuel capability (FHS) did not require 4WD, and was available with either 2WD or 4WD

    • For the 2024 model year, Rear Park Assist (UD7) was standard exclusively on Silverado 1500 ZR2, while Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison included ultrasonic Front and Rear Park Assist (UD5) as standard
    • For the 2025 model year, ultrasonic Front and Rear Park Assist (UD5) becomes standard on Silverado 1500 ZR2, and continues to be standard on Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison
  • Cruise Control (K34) now standard on Work Truck (WT)
    • For the 2024 model year, Cruise Control (K34) was available as an option on Work Truck (WT)
  • Trailer brake controller (JL1) now standard on 1LT, 2FL, 1SP and 2LT
    • For the 2024 model year, this was not available on 2FL and available as an option on 1LT, 1SP, and 2LT

      • Availability: available on WT and included in all other trim levels
    • Fleet LT Trailering Package Delete (RG5) (Z82)
      • Package removes:
        • Trailer hitch
        • 7-pin and 4-pin connectors
        • Hitch Guidance (CTT)
      • Package availability: only available on 1LT
  • Dark Appearance Package (CWK) no longer available on Custom
    • Content:
      • Black badging
      • Black decals
      • Black exhaust tips
    • For the 2024 model year, Dark Appearance Package (CWK) was available on Custom
